The new-ness of it all

We spent most of yesterday resting, recovering from our journey, and spending time with family who dropped by to visit. It was very good to see them. For N and family, it felt like coming home, while for M, it was good to see the few people he had met at the wedding again, and meet others he had heard about for so long.

Today, N went and got her nails done, to relax and get ready for the wedding events coming up. We all went to the mall, which sounds ordinary unless you know that there were no malls here the last time N visited in '00. This mall was very much like an American one, with many of the same stores. It's good to see progress with an Indian touch!

We're on a slow start in terms of all that we want to do while here, but we're still getting past the tired-ness of our journey (we refuse to call it jet lag!).

Visited some more with family, met a new cousin (just ~7 months old) who is as cute as can be! It's fun to laugh and spend time with these people I grew up with.

Tomorrow, Mom and I head to the wedding festivities in a nearby town, with the boys joining us on the 13th. Not sure if we'll be able to post over the next few days while there, but will catch up later if that's the case.

It is really beginning to feel like a vacation because we have no sense of time or day or date, except for keeping track of where we are to be the next day.
