"I don't want to get to the end of my life and find that I lived just the length of it. I want to have lived the width of it as well" - Diane Ackerman

Wedding Festivities Day 1
The Mehndi (henna) ceremony was yesterday, and it was held at the house of one of the bride's relatives. This relative is the only non-Muslim Sheikh appointed by the Sultan of Oman. More impressive than his house or wealth were his hospitality and friendliness to us all. We then had an afternoon break, and an Arabian-themed dinner party in the evening. It was so nice to spend time with my family from India and hang out with cousins. The dinner included Arabian food, music, hookah pipes, and a belly dancer!
