Random Sat. made special

For Mother's Day this year, I gave my Mom tickets for the 2 of us to go see "The Color Purple" musical when it was (back) in Charlotte in August. It seemed far away at the time, but it arrived yesterday. We decided to make a day of family time...

The 5 of us (the 'rents, bro, M & me) went to Noodles & Co. for a leisurely lunch. We sat outside, enjoyed our food, and filled each other in on the past couple of weeks of happenings. Mom and I then went to the show, while the boys hung out at my bro's place, which is close to Uptown. We enjoyed the show, and were glad we had left the boys at home (not sure if they would have liked it as much). In spite of it being first a book, then a movie, I never knew the story of "The Color Purple," and was glad to find it as one that ends well (wasn't sure before going if it would). Meanwhile, the boys played video games, napped, etc. We hung out at Suril's for a bit longer and then were on our merry way...
