In order not to make it seem like everything has been or is peachy, and to remember some of this stuff in the future, I'd like to present to you a list of minor annoyances that we've had to deal with as of late...
1. The water doesn't taste good! Keep wondering if it's just different and we will get used to it, or if we should buy water by the gallon.
2. We could hear the dog barking next door non-stop in the evenings. Welcome to apartment living! Thankfully we have not heard him the last 2 evenings. Crossing fingers the silence continues.
3. Grocery shopping has a whole new hassle element to it when living in a high-rise. Depending on the quantity, i.e. not a bag or two, it's not a simple thing to transport your purchases from car to home. We have to go down to the lobby, request a cart, take it out to the garage, bring home the purchases, and then go return the cart. We are also annoyed by the hassle of finding a grocery store that suits us, finding products we're used to in it, and/or different layouts of our favorite chain stores. Ugh!
4. We have a furnished apt (yes, quite the benefit). However, they stocked the kitchen with only 4 of everything, i.e. 4 plates, bowls, flatware, glasses. Ever thought about how quickly 2 people can go through that? And, these things alone do not fill up the dishwasher! We are constantly having to wash them by hand... We ate ice cream the other night out of wine glasses (they're certainly not being used at the present time for their real purpose!) using soup spoons... it was a cute moment.
Again, these are minor. We're pretty blessed in the housing we have received and all the good things that have happened to us, and we know it.
